Q: How soon should I book my transportation for a wedding, special event, etc.?
A: In order to ensure the greatest number of vehicle options, you should book your transportation as soon as your date is firm. Some dates book far in advance.
Q: Should I visit the companies I am looking to do business with?
A: We recommend visiting any company with which you are considering doing business for the first time. When you visit the company, you can see firsthand the cars and coaches that are available to you. You can make sure they are clean and in good repair. Be sure to ask "Is this the vehicle I will be getting?"
We welcome visitors at Shima Limousine. We are located at 7555 Tyler Boulevard, Suite 12 in Mentor, OH. You can see our limos, coaches, and cars on
our vehicle page.
Q: How do I know if the company I am contemplating doing business with is livery licensed and their coaches have passed the required state inspection?
A: When you visit a prospective company, look at the license plates on the cars and limousines. There should be a decal that says "livery veh." on the plate. The coaches should have a decal affixed to each side of the vehicle that says "This bus has passed inspection by the Ohio State Highway Patrol."
Q: Should my decision to rent a vehicle be based entirely on rate?
A: No. Many factors can go into calculating the rate, including the year of the vehicle, the vehicle manufacturer, and the number of passengers a vehicle
can legally carry. Rates are also based on the amount of insurance carried by the company, add-ons, and other factors. That's why it's important to visit the limousine companies with which you are contemplating doing business. In addition to seeing the vehicles, you can ask about their insurance, make sure it's adequate, and get a full accounting of the rates.
At Shima Limousine, we carry insurance that far exceeds the state minimum.
Q: How do I determine if a ground transportation company car can properly take care of me at the airport?
A: Ask if the company is livery licensed, what kind of vehicles they operate, and if they have up-to-date parking passes to enter the limousine lot at the airport.
Q: How important is the driver?
A: You should ask about training, background and drug testing, insurance, and license checks. Be sure to ask if the drivers are employees of that company rather than independent contractors.
When you choose Shima Limousine, you get a professionally trained chauffeur who is a company employee. We do drug and alcohol screenings, and our drivers hold the relevant licenses for their vehicles and passengers. To learn more, please
